Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how toolworldonline ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and tools. We are committed to being transparent and minimizing the data we handle.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account data: name and email address when you register.
- Authentication data: a hashed password (never stored in plain text) and password-reset tokens.
- Subscription data: your plan and billing status managed via Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles all payment information.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- IP address: used to enforce daily usage limits for anonymous (not-logged-in) users.
- Usage logs: tool usage counts per day to apply your plan's limits. These identify you by user ID (if logged in) or IP (if anonymous).
- Cookies: a single session cookie (httpOnly, Secure, SameSite) to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve our tools and features.
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse of the service.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions (via Stripe).
- To send transactional emails (verification, password resets, billing notices).
- To respond to your support requests.
3. How tools process your data
Wherever technically possible, tools process your input in your browser — your data never leaves your device. Some tools require server-side processing to function; in those cases, your input is used only to generate the requested output and is not retained longer than necessary.
4. Data sharing
- Stripe: processes payments. Card data never touches our servers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Email provider (Hostinger SMTP): delivers transactional emails.
- Google AdSense: serves ads to free/anonymous users. Paid users see no ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We never sell your personal data.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained to maintain accurate limit counts and may be aggregated or deleted after a reasonable period. You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, contact support@toolworldonline.com.
7. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords (bcrypt/Argon2), prepared database statements, CSRF protection, hardened session cookies, and secrets isolated from the web root. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information consistently.
8. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us to remove it.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. By using the service, you consent to such transfers in accordance with this policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
